Thank you for choosing to adopt! Every animal adopted equals THREE lives saved: the one you adopt, the one who can now come to our open foster home, and one who can take that one's place in the shelter. Before you complete an adoption application, check out why you want to adopt from Good Karma.
As a non-profit organization, we are supported only by generous donations and adoption fees. Each dog's adoption fee is listed on their Petfinder and Adopt-a-Pet listings as well as on our website, and we will also advise you of each adoption fee once you know which animal you'd like to adopt. Our average fee is in the range of $495 - $525 (which includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate distemper vaccines, rabies vaccine, deworming, heartworm test in dogs over 8 months of age, heartworm treatment if the dog had this condition, microchip including LIFETIME registration, and state-required sales tax). There are some exceptions for senior dogs, bonded pairs, or dogs with medical issues. It's important to remember that you are not buying a dog; you are supporting a non-profit animal rescue. Adoption fees help us offset our costs in saving these precious lives, so that we can continue this important work.
There are lots of things that set Good Karma apart. We never skimp or cut corners on care, and we will NOT release a dog for adoption until that dog is ready to be introduced to family life.
